New Advert Design

OLD ADVERT DESIGN

This was the process of which I created my final advert design, I chose to advertise trainers and have a simple design. The background is a concrete texture which I thought related to my trainer design name "FOOTWORK." The font I wanted to be simple and bold.
The final look of my design looks plain and does not really have a entertaining or attractive factor to it, so I decided to change the layout of the advert and add more effect on the trainers also the text. The actual page has to be A4 also.
I decided to change my advert design to make my advert more vibrant and colorful, I used the work of Kate Moross as inspiration  the graffiti/animated look I thought was quite effective and interesting. Also the colors she uses on the background relate and blend in with the colors of the actual shoe, the title in the center with the shoe makes the center of the page the main view point. Another artist that inspired and relates to my advert design is Stephen Sprouse he also uses bright tones of color to advertise pieces but adds dark black outlines to make things stand out more, that technique also adds a graffiti effect to the piece which I'm trying to interpret in my advert cover.

NEW ADVERT DESIGN
I used the Brush Tool to make this light dab of color effect for the background of my advert.
I highlighted the shoes first with purple outline which blends and complements the background colors, I then added black outline to make it more bold.

I used a thick texture on the Brush Tool to border the triangles, the unclean effect it has I think works well instead of ruining the outcome of the advert.

I used the Magic Wand Tool to take out the white areas on the text, the font I used was Abandon on Dafont  this blend in to the boldness of background colors like graffiti which I think is a good effect.

Andrea Bricco Layout

Andrea Bricco magazine layout

The images and text on this page are quit spread out, the images are placed next to text instead of being wrapped around. The layout is very simple but effective, there's not a lot of text and the images are quit bit on size and 3D like on the page.

The font on this page is simple and in italics, the title is big and bold as are the sub titles but in smaller font. The text is simple with important information being in bold, the focus on this page is more about the images instead of the typography they stand out more.

The images are drawn separate with watercolours and thin fine liners which adds a 3D effect and makes it stand out on the page. The article is about food and the colours and size of the illustrations are what is most outstanding on the page and the main attraction.

Advert Design Final Plan

This is my plan for my final advert design, I chose my main subject of my advert to be shoes because I could relate best to that and could use personal hobbies to help me develop my ideas. I want the name of my brand FOOTWORK to be the main central focus point in big bold font, the background would either be black, white or a concrete texture.

Advert Moodboard

These are examples of well known brands ads such as Adidas and Nike, theres a good use of colour and photoshop effects. The image of the Adidas black and white trainers I am most interested by the actual product is the main central focus and is linked to the brand logo. The dripping paint effect is a good effect I may try to interpret in my work.

Advert Analysis

Aesthetics
The different shades of brown in this advert relate to the main subject of the advert being, coffee. The swirl effect used reminds me of Si Scotts work, but I think the lines were done by hand. Theres a sense of real and illusion with the use of space I think because theres an photo of an actual image of a mug with coffee beans, the background is more of an illusion with the swirly lines and the circles which look like bubbles. The artists has used lines, shape and colour which I think create movement and describe the taste the coffee has.

Context
This is an advertising poster, to advertise and promote a coffee business.

Meaning
The works subject is coffee, the artist is representing a brand the aim is to adverts and help the business gain more customers. The title on this work does effect the way you see it because its in the centre and its eye catching, also relates back to the brand.

Personal Response
What is most effective and interesting about this poster for me is the simplicity of it because theres not a lot of shapes, colours or effects being used but its still an effective advertisement. I like the way the real photograph of the mug is used with the brown background and the swirly lines, makes you think of the soft taste and smell of the coffee.

Illustration Drawings

I did these two observational drawings using black thin liner, once I drew the out line I got a wet brush and wet the outlines to create a light water fill within the drawings.
I experimented with continuous line drawings and simple sketches of objects we had to draw in a 30 second time limit.
